JNU will have an entrance examination in December for the admission. Notification has been issued for the Academic Session 2018-19. The University entrance examination will be conducted from December 27 to December 30 in 53 cities across the country and will have an also entrance examination in Kathmandu, Nepal, outside the country. Earlier, entrance exams were held in May. Today online application procedure has been started from 10 o’clock on September 15. Candidates will be able to fill the form till October 13 (till 11:59 PM).

Entrance examination has been conducting for M.Phil / PhD, M.Phil / PhD from JRF, PhD from JRF, Phd, MTech, MPH, PGDE, MA, MSc, MCA, BA Honors in Foreign Language and all Part Time Course. Prospectus can be seen at JNU’s website (jnu.ac.in). The online application will be filled for all courses.

Entrance Examinations in JNU this year were conducted from 16th to 19th May. Instead of May, the decision to keep examinations in December was considering for the last two years and this year the Standing Council stamped it. A committee was formed for this and opinion was taken from all the Deans. There is a reason to keep the entrance examination in December, so that more and more students can apply for JNU.

The administration believes that after retaining entry in May, the result comes to the end of June, while in many universities the admission process is almost closed to May. This makes many students take admission in the rest of the universities. Administration believes that keeping Entrance in December, JNU will meet with quality students .
